In leadership, that idea might sound idealistic. Business is competitive, time is tight, and there’s pressure to hold your ground. But I’ve learned this:
The most influential leaders are the ones who give consistently and without keeping score.
Here’s how giving has shaped the way I lead:
1. Share what you know
Worried that sharing too much makes you replaceable? It’s the opposite. Sharing builds trust and fuels growth. It multiplies your impact through others.
2. Invest in your people
Mentoring, backing new ideas or creating room for growth pays off in ways you can’t always predict. When people feel supported, they go further and take your business with them.
3. Make space for collaboration
Holding back limits progress. When you create space for open ideas and shared ownership, the results often exceed anything you could’ve done alone.
Here’s the shift that changed everything for me:
Giving doesn’t reduce your value. It expands it.
You never know when a simple act of support leads to the next great idea, the next big move or a partnership that changes everything.
