Ali Aydan: How I learned the importance of network-building

No matter how good your business strategies are, you’re limiting your success if you neglect your network.

I used to think that strategy and execution were everything until I realised that relationships are the real growth accelerator. Here are three ways I’ve seen this play out:

✅ Opportunities come from people, not ideas

The best opportunities often emerge from a conversation, not a plan. A simple coffee chat can spark a multi-million-pound partnership.

✅ Your network holds you accountable

Building relationships with like-minded leaders expands your horizons and keeps you grounded. They push you to reach your potential and offer a mirror when you need perspective.

✅ Trust trumps credentials

People do business with those they trust. No matter how impressive your credentials are, the trust built through consistent relationships will always open more doors.

➡️ Here’s the twist: Are you investing enough in your network-building skills?

❕ In business, many leaders focus so much on scaling operations or refining strategies that they overlook the power of human connections. But without a strong network, even the best ideas can fall flat.

Summary: As much as we build strategies to grow our businesses, we must also prioritise our networks. The people we know and the trust we build will propel us forward.
