❕Here’s the bold reality: Work doesn’t stop when it’s done. It stops when the time runs out.
❕Parkinson’s Law teaches us that tasks naturally expand to fill the time we allocate to them. And that can become a huge productivity trap.
Here are three strategies I’ve used to combat this👇
✅ Set shorter deadlines
If you give yourself a week, it’ll take a week. If you give yourself three days, you’ll finish in three. Setting tighter timelines forces you to focus on what really matters.
✅ Break tasks into sprints
By dividing a project into smaller, timed chunks, you can maintain momentum without the task creeping beyond its true scope.
✅ Prioritize progress over perfection
❕ Done is better than perfect. Perfectionism adds layers of unnecessary work, stretching timelines and causing delays.
➡️ But here’s the twist: What if a task’s actual time is always less than what we initially estimate? Could we get twice as much done if we challenged those time limits?
