Ali Aydan: Appreciation Isn’t a Bonus. It’s a Leadership Strategy

One of the most important things I’ve learned in leadership is this: when people feel valued, they care more about the outcome.

It’s not just about salary or perks. It’s about trust, recognition and making sure people feel like they genuinely matter. That shift has made a big difference in how I lead at AMADEO.

Here’s how you can build that kind of environment:

Recognise Wins Publicly
Call out great work in front of the team. Big or small, recognition makes people feel seen and encourages others to raise their game.

Give Ownership, Not Just Tasks
Let your team lead. Give them space to make decisions and take responsibility. Ownership builds confidence and commitment.

Ask for Input Often
Show that their perspective counts. Invite feedback and take action on it when it fits. It builds trust quickly.

Support Their Growth
Offer training and mentoring that align with their goals. It shows you’re invested in them, not just the job they do.

People want to be part of something meaningful. When they feel appreciated, they don’t just turn up for work. They show up with purpose.

What’s one thing a great leader did that made you feel truly valued at work? – Ali Aydan
